Wes’ Bio:

“I grew up in Arlington, Virginia and began skateboarding when I was about 12 years old. I slowly became obsessed with skating and I gradually faded away from team sports. My friends would ask me, “Why aren’t you playing basketball anymore Wes? and I would respond that I have found my new passion. Skateboarding is unique because it can be done alone or with others. I started taking the Metro from Arlington to downtown Washington DC to skate a famous skate spot called Freedom Plaza or Pulaski Park.  This place became my second home and I met skaters from all walks of life around the DC area who came together at this marble plaza.

My skating progressed and I became sponsored by a few skate companies based in San Francisco. I came out to the bay area to skate and meet the people who ran the companies and I fell in love with San Francisco. I went back to DC and loaded up my car with my most prized possessions and headed west to pursue my professional skateboarding career.

9 years later I’m still here skateboarding daily.

I have been teaching skateboarding for San Francisco Parks & Recreation Departments’ “Shred N’ Butter” program for three years and now with GoSkate for one year.
