Ryland is truly a free spirit. After suffering a massive stroke at the age of seven, he started skateboarding (against his doctor’s wishes) and never looked back. It is the one thing that Ryland has always connected with on a seemingly supernatural level; he genuinely loves it. He grew up in California, where he skated alongside the likes of Alex Midler, Ryan Sheckler, and even Tony Hawk himself. He was also mentored by former pro Neal Mims for an entire summer. One day, he hopes to move back there with his girlfriend to relive the memories which he so deeply cherishes and to create new ones that are even better. The ones closest to him have described Ryland as humble, silly, and positive. He is an extremely hard worker. During the school year, he takes classes and studies at Davidson College in North Carolina. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and his girlfriend, playing video games, and of course… skating! He is quite charismatic, friendly, and self-aware, so engaging with him is always a pleasant experience.
