James is a passionate and dedicated skateboarder with over 15 years’ experience on the
board. He has experience both as a skateboard summer camp counselor and as a private
skate instructor in his hometown of Naples, FL. Starting at age 10, James attended the
skateboarding summer camp at his local skatepark, The Edge, which he later returned to
as a camp counselor. He spent three summers teaching young kids the basics and
fundamentals of skateboarding. At the same skatepark, James held private lessons
arranged by the local skate shop for students in a one-on-one style of instruction. He has
always enjoyed sharing his love of skateboarding and seeing children progress and
develop their own love of it.
James has always had a passion for teaching what he knows. His specialties on the board
include technical street tricks with an emphasis on flip-tricks, ledges and rail skating. He
is also a talented quarter-pipe and transition-style skater. His number one focus will
always be the safety of the student. He understands the potential hazards of
skateboarding, and always takes necessary measures to ensure that students are safe
and out of harm’s way. James has the ability to teach students ranging from beginners to
advanced skaters.
James is great with children and is excited to share his knowledge of skateboarding with
everyone. He prides himself on being a positive role model for new skaters. If you or your
child is interested in learning the beautiful art of skateboarding, you can count on James
to provide helpful and thoughtful instruction. James says that safety comes first, then
fun, and then technical development of skateboarding skills.
