Andrew N. is looking to teach beginners how to skateboard in
Greater New York City. He started skateboarding when he was eight years old
after watching locals skateboard in his hometown park of Arlington, Virginia.
He could never afford lessons, so every trick in his arsenal was/is
self-taught. He is patient. This is an important trait for instructors of any
field because it allows for the instructor and trainee to overcome challenges
in a healthy way. His favorite “basic” trick is the kick-flip because it was
the second trick he learned, after the ollie. He skates all four seasons. The
only time he doesn’t skate is if the ground is wet or if there is snow on the
ground.
