Hi, I am J. I am a Concordia student in Montreal. I have been skating for 5 years and the passion doesn’t seem to fade. I would love people to know this sport and try it out with my support. The one thing I love about skateboarding is that I can hop on the board and cruise around downtown Montreal without having to worry about gas, parking, and finding new spots to do some tricks. My main goal is to make sure you gain the confidence to skate on the street of Montreal SAFELY.

Growing up in a large family of 8, and with 7 years of experience skating on many platforms (skateboar, longboard, penny’s and cruisers), this young artist and college student is a great fit for teaching children and teens how to skate.  Plenty of experience with children, saftey is never a question, but always a requirement. Let them teach you or your child and you can expect amazing results.

Kiya would be an amazing skateboard instructor due to his 15+ years of experience, he has taught kids to skateboard before and kiya is very passionate when it comes to skateboarding.

In Kiya’s 15+ years of skateboarding, he has had multiple sponsors (5 sponsors) throughout his career and has entered in many contests. Kiya has placed in the top 3 in three competitions and has won two of them as well. Kiya has taken part in skating with big names such as, Aaron Jaws, Lizard King, Trey Wood, Cory Juneau, Jagger Eaton, and Matt Berger. EverythingSkateboarding is an online magazine that has featured kiya in the “The Power of Participation” page in July 2018 at only 16 years old.

Since the ages of thirteen to eighteen kiya has given lessons to 11 people from the ages of 6 years old to 19 years old. No one has ever gotten critically hurt under his teachings and kiya have never disappointed anyone. The people Kiya gave skating lessons to have all seen improvement in their skating. Kiya likes to record skateboard tricks so he can show whoever he is teaching their problems from a different point of view so the trainees can get a better idea of what they are doing wrong if they are doing something wrong.

When it comes to skateboarding kiya has been skating for a long time, he would skate up to 5 days out of the week for years. He puts all his efforts into skating no matter how tired or beat up he gets from it, he has never put more time into anything else in his life. Kiya always feels most happy whenever he is on a board.

With all the experience, hard work and efforts kiya has pushed himself to do what he loves and this is the reason why Kiya deserves to become a skateboard instructor.

Jarrett is a long time skateboarder with in-depth knowledge of how to use a board and use it safely. He doesn’t fall much or cause injury to himself, because throughout his skate career he has learned to fall correctly, wear protective gear, insight on how to keep balance even when going at high speeds, and ways to do tricks in a way that will have a less likely chance of hurting himself and others around him. He is able to teach the basics and also more advanced techniques to better help understand and/or just feel comfortable on the board. He has knowledge and able to teach students to have situational awareness in all sorts of environments from skate parks to street skating. For him, being an instructor means teaching students the value, positives/negatives, of skating in a safe and controlled environment until they are ready for the next step, to take on parks by themselves and feel comfortable and eventually they will feel better about them going out and skating! Parents (if the students are still to young to be out by themselves), our mission is to keep you’re child safe and supervised the entire time, to make sure you are with us every step of the way, we want you to be just as happy with us as the student is, Skateboarding is all about happiness, building friendships, learning that struggling is a part of life and makes you stronger and to keep pushing through everyday and not to give up!

I am a lifelong skateboarder. After more than 25 years of pushing wood, I can proudly say that I’m part of a global community of skateboarders upholding an unspoken creed of friendship, achievement, and style. I’ve skateboarded at nearly 100 different skateparks around the world, and have never lost a trick. Pushing 40, I am still learning to this very day. I could think of nothing better than to have the opportunity to impart my experience, wisdom, and passion for this sport on to the next generation.
