Great communication skills and attention to detail. Will make sure students needs are met and that their safety is in the utmost importance to the lesson and student is overall satisfied with the lesson. Have a ton of beginner movements to teach as well as more advanced maneuvers and into tricks. Always drawn to local talent and the younger they start, the better for success in this industry. Safety is the main priority in any session and it will be no different in these lessons. Great motivator for others to get that courage or confidence to build up their skills and conquer their fears or intimidation. Will teach them it is okay to fail and that through strength and perseverance, they can get wherever they want with skateboarding! Will be polite, yet adamant that the student has it within them to get to their goals and can guarantee they will be leaving the lesson with a smile on their face and confidence to start their next lessons. Skateboarding is a passion to learn, overcome and deal with new challenges one faces in life. Stance and comfortability on the board, will be the determining factor of advancement/ progression and won’t let the student skip ahead of their skill level. Skateparks are some of the best learning areas, because of the smooth concrete and different features. Would never let a student do what they aren’t ready for and will make sure to be within falling reach, in case the student loses their balance. Have helped others at the skatepark and some of my nephews and nieces on how to skateboard in their driveway. Always made sure it was a flat surface and for the more skilled kids, I just gave tips on where to try placing their feet until they landed that new trick finally.

Never will be too hard on the students and realize that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. The student will be taught how to identify any problems with his/ her skateboard. Then, their stance will be determined if not already done before. The student will be taught how to ride their skateboard before anything else, starting with standing on the board in grass or dirt. Once they can stand for a few minutes move on to tic-tacs and so on. The students progression will be of the utmost importance as well, so once they have demonstrated they are ready, they will move to the next maneuver or trick. Also the lessons should be fun for them, so that will be a main focus while trying to make their dreams come true. A little over 11 years skateboarding and a little less snowboarding. Great problem solving skills and overall a great motivator to get the student furthering their progression.
