Hi, my name is Tate Kim. I’m 21 years old and have grown up surfing and skating. I pretty much do both every day and love them with all my heart. Been a lot more into skating the last several years and have acquired crucial techniques and much knowledge of the activity.

I’m a big fan of kids, still, pretty much act like one.
Super stoked to find this site thanks to my good friend Oshun who teaches a couple of lessons a week. Been wanting to work with kids again. I used to teach surfing through a surf shop I used to work at and I mainly taught kids. They are the most fun! Super funny and expressive, and the fastest of learners.
Along with teaching surfing, I have a good amount of experience teaching skateboarding. A couple of kids I’ve taught over the years are already almost better than me. I’ve taught most of my cousins a bunch of my neighbors’ kids, my old girlfriend, her friends, a lot of my friends and many more. I’m constantly giving and receiving pointers. That’s what it’s all about.
ABOUT ME:
I’m a super passionate person and get along well with others. A couple of terms to describe me I guess would be kind, passionate, funny, punctual, creative, and maybe personable. Also pretty easy going and can get along with all age groups.
In terms of instruction, I recommend full pads always for beginners. Skating is a very dangerous activity, especially without help. The first thing my dad taught me before anything was how to fall, and I’m very glad he did. I have broken many bones skating, but the number would definitely be exponentially higher if it wasn’t for my old man.
Super excited to teach some lessons and am free all the time. I am able to teach people of all ages and skill levels, from never having stood on board to amateur pro status.
As far as progression, everyone is different, but if you have motivation and self-confidence, every time u skateboard your skill levels will increase (with proper instruction). Like they say practice makes perfect. I’m just trying to make your practice perfect.
