Ventura (officially the City of San Buenaventura; commonly called San Buenaventura before 1891) is the county seat of Ventura County, California, United States, incorporated in 1866. The population was 106,433 at the 2010 census, up from 100,916 at the 2000 census. Ventura is accessible via U.S. Route 101, State Route 33, and State Route 126.
Father Junípero Serra founded Mission San Buenaventura in 1782, forming the basis of what would become the city. The mission was named for St. Bonaventure, a Thirteenth Century Franciscan saint and a Doctor of the Church. On July 6, 1841, Governor Juan Bautista Alvarado granted Rancho San Miguel to Felipe Lorenzana and Raymundo Olivas, whose Olivas Adobe on the banks of the Santa Clara River was the most magnificent hacienda south of Monterey.
After the American Civil War, settlers came to the area, buying land from the Mexicans, or simply as squatters. Vast holdings were later acquired by Easterners, including the railroad magnate, Thomas Scott….

Choose me as your instructor I’ve been skating for 30 years and know a wide variety of tricks. I can help you learn everything you need to know to get you where you can do the tricks that you dream of. I believe in safety first, wearing a helmet is not lame, it’s smart. So be prepared. Skateboarding is fun and we will have a good time learning how to skate. There is no better feeling than learning tricks and taking your skills to the next level. I understand that part of skateboarding now I want to share it with you. It will take time and dedication but if you love skateboarding you will be ripping very soon. I love skateboarding and when I was a beginner I fulfilled my dreams of getting sponsored within 2 years. You can do it too, you just have to practice, practice, practice!

Marcel A. from Camarillo, California!

Marcel is 31 years old and has been skateboarding for 20+ years. He is an Air Force veteran and has been working with kids in multiple active/sports environments for nearly his entire life. Marcel has coaching certifications through USA Weightlifting and CrossFit that augment his ability to break down and explain complex movements as simple and basic as needed. Marcel also has an extensive and in-depth knowledge base of functional movement and conditioning, accumulated over a decade of training dancer-athletes with his wife Nicole at their studio. He is currently working to attain another certification through NASM as a Corrective Exercise Specialist. Marcel loves skateboarding and attributes his creativity and adaptability to his lifelong passion for pushing and rolling.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data uncovered there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a board in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the following years the skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture. The most significant change has been the generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
