Van Horne is a city in Benton County, Iowa, United States. The population was 716 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Cedar Rapids Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Van Horne is located at 42°0′32″N 92°5′20″W / 42.00889°N 92.08889°W / 42.00889; -92.08889 (42.008994, -92.088913).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 716 people, 286 households, and 195 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,008.2 people per square mile (389.4/km²). There were 305 housing units at an average density of 429.5 per square mile (165.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.21% White, 0.84% African American, 0.98% Native American, 0.42% Asian, and 0.56% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.56% of the population.

We will show you the basics of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. In spite, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your skill level.

A 2002 report by American Sports Data discovered that there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a skateboard in the previous year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the following years the actual locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Van Horne skate park.
