Somerton is a small town and civil parish in the South Somerset district of the English county of Somerset. It is situated on the River Cary, approximately 8.8 miles (14.2 km) north-west of Yeovil. The civil parish includes the hamlets of Etsome and Hurcot. The town also has its own parish council serving a population of 4,706 as of 2002 and an acreage of 6,620 acres (2,680 ha) as of 1894.
The history of Somerton dates back to the Anglo-Saxon era, when it was an important political and commercial centre, giving its name to the county. After the Norman conquest of England the importance of the town declined, despite becoming the county town of Somerset in the late thirteenth century and early fourteenth century. The town had links with Muchelney Abbey in the Middle Ages. Somerton became a market town, whose economy was supported by transport systems using the River Parrett, and later rail transport via the Great Western Railway, and by light industries including glove making and gypsum…

A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered that there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the following years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the generation bubble that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

 

How you can start skateboard lessons?

 

 

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Somerton skate park.
