Smoaks is a town in Colleton County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 140 at the 2000 census.
Smoaks is located at 33°05′27″N 80°48′39″W / 33.090951°N 80.810733°W / 33.090951; -80.810733.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.6 square miles (4.1 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 140 people, 59 households, and 41 families residing in the town. The population density was 85.9 people per square mile (33.2/km). There were 68 housing units at an average density of 41.7 per square mile (16.1/km). The racial makeup of the town was 85.71% White, 11.43% African American, and 2.86% from two or more races.

Learn Skateboarding in a Two Week-Long Course

Skateboarding is a leisure activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data found that there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the ensuing years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation activity for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

Do you want to learn how to skateboard?

Study all of the fundamentals of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will show you the basics of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. In spite, of where you are at.. you can benefit from individualized instruction to meet your current skill level.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Smoaks skate park.
