Signal Mountain is a town in Hamilton County, Tennessee, United States. The town is a suburb of Chattanooga and is located on Walden Ridge, a land mass often mistakenly referred to as “Signal Mountain” itself. The population was 7,429 as of the 2000 census.
Signal Mountain is located at 35°8′N 85°21′W (35.1291, -85.3424).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 6.7 square miles (17.3 km), all of it land.
Signal Mountain’s history dates back years before settlement of the mountain itself. Centuries prior to the Civil War, Native Americans used a location on the mountain known as Signal Point to send fire and smoke signals across the Tennessee Valley. Later, the Union Army used Signal Point as a communications station during the American Civil War. At the outbreak of the war, only a few families lived on the mountain. Do you want to learn how to skateboard?

Is the fear of falling keeping you from progressing? Understand all of the fundamentals of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will show you the principles of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. No matter, of where you are at.. you can benefit from individualized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data found there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the coming years the locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The biggest change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Signal Mountain skate park.
