Sciota (pronounced /saɪˈoʊdə/) is a village in McDonough County, Illinois, United States. The population was 58 at the 2000 census.
Sciota is located at 40°33′39″N 90°45′06″W / 40.56083°N 90.75167°W / 40.56083; -90.75167 (40.5608731, -90.7517996) at an elevation of 758 ft (231 m). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.78 km), all of it land.
The village of Sciota lies in an area of prime farmland with soil classified as Mollisols.
Sciota is situated directly east of the headwaters of an unnamed tributary of Spring Creek, itself a tributary of the East Fork La Moine River.
As of the census of 2000, there were 58 people, 27 households, and 19 families residing in the village. The population density was 182.7 people per square mile (70.0/km²). There were 32 housing units at an average density of 100.8 per square mile (38.6/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 100.00% White.

Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from customized instruction to meet your current skill level.

A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the coming years the skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The biggest change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation activity for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Sciota skate park.
