Sautee Nacoochee (or Sautee-Nacoochee) is an unincorporated community in White County, Georgia, near Sautee Creek in the Appalachian foothills of northeast Georgia, approximately 95 miles (153 km) north of Atlanta. The nearest incorporated town is the tourist destination of Helen, Georgia.

Sautee Nacoochee’s name combines two place names of Native American origin.
The word “Sautee” comes from the Cherokee name of a former Hitchiti-speaking Creek Indian village named Sawa-te near the juncture of Sautee Creek and the Chattahoochee River. The name means “Racoon People.” By 1540 AD, the area was inhabited by Cherokee people (probable displacement of the Mississippian cultures that preceded them took place between 1200 and 1400 AD), who called the village “Chota” (also spelled Chotte in some texts). The village was at the southern end of what is today referred to as the Sautee Valley.

Do you want to learn how to skateboard?

Is the fear of falling keeping you from progressing? Understand all of the basic principles of skateboarding fast in a one-week camp. We will show you the basics of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a leisure activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a board in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the coming years the actual locations of skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the developed generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
