Sandoval ( /sænˈdoʊvəl/) is a village in Marion County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,434 at the 2000 census.
Sandoval is located at 38°36′47″N 89°07′14″W / 38.612966°N 89.120632°W / 38.612966; -89.120632.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6 km), all of it land.
Sandoval is located at the junction of U.S. Route 50 and U.S. Route 51. As US 51 is the central north-south route of the US Highway System, and US 50 is the central east-west route, in a sense this made Sandoval the “center” of the United States when the system was built in the 1920s.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,434 people, 562 households, and 396 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,494.0 people per square mile (576.7/km²).
