Pocola is a town in Le Flore County, Oklahoma, United States. It is part of the Fort Smith, Arkansas-Oklahoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 3,994 at the 2000 census.
Pocola is located at 35°15′29″N 94°28′26″W / 35.25806°N 94.47389°W / 35.25806; -94.47389 (35.257983, -94.473959).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 30.5 square miles (79 km), of which, 30.3 square miles (78 km) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 km) of it (0.69%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,994 people, 1,508 households, and 1,165 families residing in the town. The population density was 131.9 people per square mile (50.9/km²). There were 1,598 housing units at an average density of 52.8 per square mile (20.4/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 86.35% White, 3.33% African American, 5.16% Native American, 0.25% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.45% from other races, and 4.43% from two or more races. Skateboarding is a pastime activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a skateboard in the most recent year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the coming years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
