Parkman is a town in Piscataquis County, Maine, United States. The town was named after Samuel Parkman, a proprietor. The population was 811 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 46.2 square miles (120 km), of which, 45.5 square miles (118 km) of it is land and 0.7 square miles (1.8 km) of it (1.54%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 811 people, 311 households, and 222 families residing in the town. The population density was 17.8 people per square mile (6.9/km²). There were 498 housing units at an average density of 10.9 per square mile (4.2/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.03% White, 0.86% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.12% Asian, and 0.86% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.49% of the population.
There were 311 households out of which 35.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.4% were married couples living together, 6.4% had a female householder…

A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered that there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the ensuing years the physical locations of skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The most significant change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
