    Jake is very detail-oriented and patient when it comes to teaching. As a self-employed guitar instructor, he understands the importance of technique because it is the foundation of everything that will be learned in the future. This is especially important when it comes to skateboarding because of its physical requirements. Anyone could teach someone else how to kickflip for example, but what is more important is learning how to do it safely. Through years of skateboarding and videography (filming skateboarding), he has both seen and experienced the repercussions of failing to learn the correct way. Just like anything else in life, skateboarding takes a lot of practice, which is something that can’t be given to a student by their instructor. All a teacher can do is provide his/her student with the best and safest method of going through the necessary motions to learn. Jake’s philosophy, in teaching both skateboarding and music, is to guide his students as they progress because muscle memory is the key component in learning almost any skill.

    In 2012, I started skateboarding with the help of my older brothers. After that, I would religiously begin to practice new tricks and techniques throughout middle school, high school, and currently on my skateboard. I recently started my own skateboarding tik tok channel to provide new techniques and tips for skateboarders as well as show my progression with new tricks. In 2017, I was a technique coach for high school volleyball which means I helped first-time players grow and learn skills and gain knowledge for the sport. I help with practice drills which help the players learn different techniques for passing, serving, setting, and spiking the ball in order to achieve their goals. I also help with games and give tips like taking 1 step back to make the perfect pass. It was an honor to see all the players grow and achieve the status they wanted for the season. I believe that my experience in teaching and learning both make me a good teacher due to the fact not only do I see from a teacher’s perspective but also a student’s. This helps with having patience and providing a more understanding of what emotions your student might go through during the process of learning how to skateboard and how to handle different situations properly.

    Skateboarding is a pastime activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 report by American Sports Data discovered there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the following years the actual locations of skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

He has been featured in Skateboarder Magazine, eHow, About.com, and several other publications for his skateboarding and skateboard lessons. He enjoys all styles of skateboarding. He has taught hundreds how to skate and thousands through his company. He is one of the most well-known skate instructors in the nation.

    The most significant change has been the generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

    It’s no surprise that skateboarding is quite popular in Las Vegas.  There are some of the best concrete skateparks in the world right here in the Vegas area.  Hollywood Skatepark is on the eastside of town and maintains the only park to have a full pipe.  Anthem Skatepark in Henderson is a popular choice due to it’s mix of terrain and lights for night skating.  Other popular choices for skateparks include Boulder City Skatepark and Craig Ranch.  Craig Ranch is one of the largest skateparks in the country, and it is the largest in Nevada.  Craig Ranch Skatepark is one of Las Vegas’ newer skateparks.  It offers more than four large bowls, a snake run, and sizable street selection.  The park has lights and is completely free, unlike Hollywood Skatepark.

    Craig Ranch Skatepark is popular among more experienced skaters.  If you are a beginner, this park may not be the best place to go.  It can get crowded here.  If you are a beginner and looking to learn or get lessons, it is best to hit this place between 8-10 am.

    Is it Legal to Skateboard in Vegas?

    Skateboarding is generally legal in Las Vegas, but there are some rules and regulations that skateboarders must follow. For example, skateboarders are not allowed to skate on private property without the owner’s permission. They are also prohibited from skating in certain areas, such as on sidewalks in certain parts of the city and on some public property, including parks and government buildings.

    Additionally, skateboarders are required to wear helmets while skating on public property, and they must follow all traffic laws and regulations if they are skating on or near roadways.

    How to Start:

    • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
    • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Las Vegas Area skate parks.
