New Sharon is a city in Mahaska County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,301 at the 2000 census.
New Sharon is located at 41°28′10″N 92°39′3″W / 41.46944°N 92.65083°W / 41.46944; -92.65083 (41.469314, -92.650838).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,301 people, 540 households, and 361 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,390.9 people per square mile (534.4/km²). There were 575 housing units at an average density of 614.7 per square mile (236.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.92% White, 0.08% Native American, 0.54% Asian, 0.15% Pacific Islander, and 0.31% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.69% of the population.

In the ensuing years the physical locations of skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The biggest change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
