The Town of Nederland is a Statutory Town established in 1885 located near the Continental Divide and Barker Meadow Reservoir in the mountains of southwest Boulder County, Colorado.
Nederland started as a trading post between Ute Indians and European Settlers during the 1850s. The first economic boom to the town came when gold, silver, & tungsten ore were discovered near the rich mines of Caribou in 1859 and Eldora in 1875.
Today it is better known as a gateway to outdoor recreation in the nearby Indian Peaks Wilderness, Rocky Mountain National Park, Roosevelt National Forest, and the recently established James Peak Wilderness. Nederland is located 15 miles southwest of Boulder, CO, 38 miles south of Estes Park, CO and 50 miles northwest of Denver.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a board in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the coming years the physical locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The biggest change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
