Lone Grove is a city in Carter County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 4,631 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Micropolitan Statistical Area of Ardmore.
The city, located seven miles west of Ardmore on U.S. Route 70, is effectively a bedroom community of Ardmore, with many residents employed in Ardmore.
A former village located in the Chickasaw Nation of the Indian Territory near a stand of cedar trees. The town was founded and a post office was established in Lone Grove on February 4, 1885. Prior to that the community was named “Price’s Store”, after local general mercantile owner T. C. “Tom Cat” Price.
During the early 1900s local businesses included three grocery stores, a barbershop, a drugstore, a movie theater, a blacksmith shop, and three doctors. Numerous oil pools, including the Healdton and Hewitt fields, were discovered nearby during the 1910s and 1920s, and the Oklahoma, New Mexico and Pacific Railway reached town in 1913. Skateboarding is a pastime activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered that there are 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a skateboard in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the ensuing years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the generation bubble that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Lone Grove skate park.
