Konawa is a city in Seminole County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 1,479 at the 2000 census.
Konawa is located at 34°57′33″N 96°45′10″W / 34.95917°N 96.75278°W / 34.95917; -96.75278 (34.959284, -96.752863). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.6 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,479 people, 551 households, and 360 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,083.9 people per square mile (419.9/km²). There were 657 housing units at an average density of 481.5 per square mile (186.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 70.11% White, 1.89% African American, 22.92% Native American, 0.20% Asian, 0.81% from other races, and 4.06% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.16% of the population.

Skateboarding is a leisure activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the ensuing years the physical locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the developed generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
