Kennebec is a town in Lyman County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 240 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Lyman County.
Kennebec is located at 43°54′15″N 99°51′46″W / 43.90417°N 99.86278°W / 43.90417; -99.86278 (43.904284, -99.862801).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km), all of it land.
Kennebec has been assigned the ZIP code 57544 and the FIPS place code 33580.
As of the census of 2000, there were 286 people, 120 households, and 80 families residing in the town. The population density was 336.9 people per square mile (129.9/km²). There were 152 housing units at an average density of 179.1 per square mile (69.0/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 88.46% White, 6.64% Native American, 1.05% Asian, and 3.85% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.70% of the population.

A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered that there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the following years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The biggest change has been the generation bubble that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

We will teach you the principles of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. No matter, of where you are at.. you can benefit from individualized instruction to meet your current skill level.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
