Jewell is an unincorporated community in Clatsop County, Oregon, United States. The logging community is located at the junction of Oregon Route 103 and Oregon Route 202, near the Nehalem River.
Jewell was named after Marshall Jewell, United States Postmaster General from 1874-1876. Jewell post office was established in 1874 and closed in 1967.
Jewell is situated near the Clatsop State Forest. Jewell Meadows Wildlife Area is a wildlife preserve near Jewell run by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. It is known for its Roosevelt elk.
The world’s largest Bigleaf Maple, as determined by the National Register of Big Trees, with a height of 101 feet and a spread of 90 feet, is located near Jewell.
Students from grades kindergarten through twelfth grade attend Jewell School, the only school in the Jewell School District.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 report by American Sports Data found there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the following years the skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the generation bubble that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

We will show you the principles of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop.   • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Jewell skate park.
