Irvine ( /ˈɜrvaɪn/ ur-vyn) is a suburban incorporated city in Orange County, California, United States. It is a planned city, mainly developed by the Irvine Company since the 1960s. Formally incorporated on December 28, 1971, the 66 square miles (170 km) city has a population of 212,375 as of the 2010 census. However, the California Department of Finance estimates its 2011 population to be 219,156. It has annexed in the past an undeveloped area to the north, and has also annexed the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, most of which is planned to be converted into the Orange County Great Park.
Because of its good schools, jobs, and housing, the city was chosen in 2008 by CNNMoney.com as the fourth best place to live in the United States; in September 2011, Businessweek listed Irvine as the 5th best city in the US. IMPROVE YOUR SKATEBOARDING IN A 7 DAY COURSE

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data uncovered that there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a skateboard in the most recent year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the coming years the locations of skate parks tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

OUR SKATE INSTRUCTORS

Ontrell F. from Irvine, California!

I skate for Welcome Skateboards, and taught kids how to skate in Babylon LA’s bowl for one year. I can teach any student how to drop in, in one day. I am also great at helping kids overcome their fears.

Rick N. from Costa Mesa, California!

Since I was old enough to understand what skateboarding was I have had an indescribable sensation or feeling of all things good and positive. I finally knew why I was put on this Earth. I simply felt at-home skateboarding and was obsessed with becoming better & better. I was astounded at how intellectually/ physically difficult this was as an amateur. My obsession grew until skateboarding is what I spent my every awoken moment doing. This went hand-in-hand with my unique and methodical mission to teach. It was weird, not only did I strive to be the best skateboarder possible but I thrived when I was able to teach others. I now have some 20-odd years of not just skateboarding but an astronomical understanding of what it actually takes from beginning to end. I now thrive when I’m teaching others to become better than I became myself. I admit that I have a NEW obsession. I AM COMPLETELY OBSESSED WITH TEACHING SKATEBOARDING… AND I LOVE IT!!! lol
