Huntington Beach is a seaside city in Orange County in Southern California. According to the 2010 census, the city population was 189,992; making it the largest beach city in Orange County in terms of population. It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the southwest, by Seal Beach on the northwest, by Costa Mesa on the east, by Newport Beach on the southeast, by Westminster on the north, and by Fountain Valley on the northeast.
It is known for its long 8.5-mile (13.7 km) beach, mild climate, and excellent surfing. The waves are a unique natural effect caused by edge-diffraction of ocean swells by the island of Catalina, and waves from distant hurricanes.
The area was originally occupied by the Tongva people. European settlement can be traced to a Spanish soldier, Manuel Nieto, who in 1784 received a Spanish land grant of 300,000 acres (1,200 km), Rancho Los Nietos, as a reward for his military service and to encourage settlement in Alta California. LEARN SKATEBOARDING IN A WEEK-LONG SCHOOL

Skateboarding is a leisure activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data found that there are 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a board in the previous year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the coming years the locations of skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

Since I was old enough to understand what skateboarding was I have had an indescribable sensation or feeling of all things good and positive. I finally knew why I was put on this Earth. I simply felt at-home skateboarding and was obsessed with becoming better & better. I was astounded at how intellectually/ physically difficult this was as an amateur. My obsession grew until skateboarding is what I spent my every awoken moment doing. This went hand-in-hand with my unique and methodical mission to teach. It was weird, not only did I strive to be the best skateboarder possible but I thrived when I was able to teach others. I now have some 20-odd years of not just skateboarding but an astronomical understanding of what it actually takes from beginning to end. I now thrive when I’m teaching others to become better than I became myself. I admit that I have a NEW obsession. I AM COMPLETELY OBSESSED WITH TEACHING SKATEBOARDING… AND I LOVE IT!!! lol
