Hilda is a town in Barnwell County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 436 at the 2000 census.
Hilda is located at 33°16′26″N 81°14′47″W / 33.27389°N 81.24639°W / 33.27389; -81.24639 (33.273985, -81.246275).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.1 square miles (8.0 km), of which, 3.1 square miles (8.0 km) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km) of it (1.29%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 436 people, 179 households, and 115 families residing in the town. The population density was 142.1 people per square mile (54.8/km²). There were 204 housing units at an average density of 66.5 per square mile (25.7/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 91.51% White, 6.88% African American, 0.46% Native American, 0.69% Asian, and 0.46% from two or more races.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data uncovered that there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a board in the previous year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the following years the skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation activity for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Hilda skate park.
