Harahan is a city in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States, and a suburb of New Orleans. The population was 9,885 at the 2000 census.
Harahan was named in honor of James Theodore Harahan, president of the Illinois Central Railroad from 1906-1911. The Illinois Central track runs parallel to Airline Highway.
One of Harahan’s more notable structures is Harahan Elementary, located along Jefferson Highway. Its current structure was opened to students in January, 1926. In 1983, it was added to the Department of the Interior’s National Register of Historic Places.
Harahan is located along a heavily-wooded area along a curve in the Mississippi River, between River Ridge to the west and Elmwood to the east. Harahan’s main road is Jefferson Highway which changes from Claiborne Avenue as it enters Jefferson Parish and dead ends in Kenner at the intersection of Williams Blvd.

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data discovered that there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a board in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the ensuing years the locations of skate parks tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The most significant change has been the generation bubble that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

Understand all of the basics of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will teach you the principles of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your current skill level.

    How you can start skateboard lessons?

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Harahan skate park.
