Graham is a city in north central Texas. It is the county seat of Young County, and as of the 2010 Census had a population of 8,903.
The site was first settled in 1871 by brothers Gustavus A. and Edwin S. Graham, primary shareholders in the Texas Emigration and Land Company of Louisville, Kentucky. The brothers moved to Texas after the Civil War, and after buying 125,000 acres (510 km) in then-vast Young County, helped to revitalize the area, the population of which had become badly depleted during the war. The Grahams purchased a local saltworks in 1872, and after new families started to arrive, began promoting the sale of homesites. A post office opened in 1873, and after Young County reorganized the following year, Graham became the county seat. The town’s newspaper, known as the Leader and still in existence today, was first printed in 1876, the same year that the first temporary courthouse was built. A 2002 report by American Sports Data discovered there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the following years the locations of skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How you can start skateboard lessons?

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Graham skate park.
