Gobles is a city in Van Buren County of the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 829. It was originally called Gobleville, after its founders, the Goble family.
1n 1864-1865, John Goble built a hotel at this location. In 1870 it was platted as Gobleville by Hiram E. Goble. Hiram Goble also became the first postmaster on April 16, 1872. Gobleville was platted as a village in 1893. The current name of Gobles was adopted on April 10, 1922. Gobles was incorporated as a city in 1957.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6 km), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 815 people, 314 households, and 209 families residing in the city. The population density was 786.9 per square mile (302.6/km²). There were 333 housing units at an average density of 321.5 per square mile (123.6/km²). Skateboarding is a pastime activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 report by American Sports Data found that there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the following years the skate parks tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the developed generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Gobles skate park.
