Glen Lyon is a census-designated place (CDP) in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,881 at the 2000 census. it is part of Newport Township, Pennsylvania.
Glen Lyon is located at 41°10′32″N 76°4′28″W / 41.17556°N 76.07444°W / 41.17556; -76.07444 (41.175582, -76.074556).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.4 square miles (8.8 km), of which, 3.3 square miles (8.5 km) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km) of it (2.05%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,881 people, 828 households, and 494 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 563.5 people per square mile (217.4/km²). There were 1,089 housing units at an average density of 326.3/sq mi (125.9/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.98% White, 1.49% African American, 0.21% Asian, and 0.32% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.37% of the population.

A 2002 report by American Sports Data discovered that there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the following years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
