Gilberts is a village in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,279 at the 2000 census. The population has grown to 6,154 as of 2009 estimates. The population continues to grow at rapid rates.
Gilberts is located at 42°6′2″N 88°21′58″W / 42.10056°N 88.36611°W / 42.10056; -88.36611 (42.100511, -88.366057).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.2 square miles (8.3 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,279 people, 394 households, and 351 families residing in the village. The population density was 398.0 people per square mile (153.8/km²). There were 398 housing units at an average density of 123.8 per square mile (47.9/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 95.86% White, 0.16% African American, 0.31% Native American, 1.64% Asian, 1.56% from other races, and 0.47% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.36% of the population.

In the following years the skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.
