Garden Ridge is an American privately held retail chain based in Houston, Texas. Starting with just one store, then known as Garden Ridge Pottery, in Schertz, Texas in 1979, the chain now sells mattresses, ready-to-assemble furniture, discount apparel and handbags, and books.
The chain operates 47 stores in 18 midwest and southeast states.
The chain is privately held by Three Cities Research. Garden Ridge declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2004 due to ongoing mismanagement and failed lease negotiations and underwent major reorganization closing ten stores in Texas, Georgia, Missouri, Florida, Ohio, and Tennessee, including the Airtex store in Houston, one of the original stores in the chain. The corporation emerged from Chapter 11 in 2005.

Find out all of the basic principles of skateboarding fast in a one-week camp. We will show you the basics of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data found that there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the following years the actual locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the developed generation bubble that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

    How you can start skateboard lessons?

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Garden Ridge skate park.
