Fort Pierce, also spelled Ft. Pierce, is a city in St. Lucie County, Florida, USA. It is known as The Sunrise City. The population was 37,959 at the 2004 census. As of 2008, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 41,000. It is the county seat of St. Lucie County. Fort Pierce is part of the Port St. Lucie, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area which have population of 400,121. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 20.8 square miles (54 km). 14.7 square miles (38 km) of it is land and 6.0 square miles (16 km) of it (35.00%) is water.
As of the census of 2008, there were 41,000 people residing in the city. The population density was2,212.4/sq mi (697.3/km²) . The racial makeup of the city was 49.54% White, 40.85% African American, 0.33% Native American, 0.79% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 5.36% from other races, and 3.05% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 15.00% of the population.

A 2002 report by American Sports Data uncovered that there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the ensuing years the actual locations of skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Fort Pierce skate park.
