Ferris is a city in Dallas and Ellis Counties in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 2,175 at the 2000 census.
Ferris is located at 32°32′7″N 96°40′1″W / 32.53528°N 96.66694°W / 32.53528; -96.66694 (32.535144, −96.667038).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.1 square miles (8.1 km²), all of it land. Most of the city lies within Ellis County, with only a small portion in Dallas County.
Settlement of the area began in the early 1870s. On September 28, 1874, a local family deeded approximately 100 acres (0.40 km) of land to four trustees for the establishment of a town and railway station. Judge Justus Wesley Ferris of Waxahachie handled the transaction and the community was named for him. Within ten years, Ferris had a population of 300 with a post office, gristmills, cotton gins, four churches, and a school.

We will show you the principles of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered that there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a board in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the ensuing years the locations of skate parks tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the developed generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Ferris skate park.
