Fernley is a city in Lyon County, Nevada, United States, within Reno-Sparks-Lake Tahoe metropolitan. The city incorporated in 2001, including land in Washoe County; prior to that it was a census-designated place (CDP). The population of the CDP was 8,543 at the 2000 census; the city itself had an estimated population of 12,673 in 2007, almost all of whom lived in Lyon County. Fernley is home to Reno-Fernley Raceway.
Fernley is located at the intersection of Interstate 80, U.S. Route 50 Alternate, and US 95A. Although it originally spanned the Lyon/Washoe County line, a county boundary change in 2005 left it entirely in Lyon County.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP had a total area of 35.4 sq mi (92 km), all land.

Is the fear of falling keeping you from progressing? Learn all of the fundamentals of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will teach you the basics of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your current skill level.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 report by American Sports Data found there are 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a skateboard in the most recent year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the ensuing years the skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How you can start skateboard lessons?

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Fernley skate park.
