Edgefield is a town in Edgefield County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 4,449 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Edgefield County.
Edgefield is part of the Augusta, Georgia metropolitan area.
Edgefield is located at 33°47′13″N 81°55′40″W / 33.78694°N 81.92778°W / 33.78694; -81.92778 (33.786840, -81.927839).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 4.2 square miles (11 km), of which, 4.1 square miles (11 km) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km) of it (1.93%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 4,449 people, 1,080 households, and 697 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,094.3 people per square mile (422.1/km²). There were 1,229 housing units at an average density of 302.3 per square mile (116.6/km²). A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data found there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the coming years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

Find out all of the basic principles of skateboarding fast in a one-week camp. We will teach you the basics of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop.   • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
