Delano ( /dəˈleɪnoʊ/ də-lay-noh) is a city in Kern County, California, United States. Delano is located 31 miles (50 km) north-northwest of Bakersfield at an elevation of 315 feet (96 m). The population was 53,041 at the 2010 census, up from 38,824 at the 2000 census. It is Kern County’s second largest city after Bakersfield.
Agriculture is Delano’s major industry. The area is particularly well known as a center for the growing of table grapes. Delano is also home to two California state prisons, North Kern State Prison and Kern Valley State Prison. The Voice of America once operated its largest, most powerful shortwave broadcast facility outside Delano at 35°45′15″N 119°17′7″W / 35.75417°N 119.28528°W / 35.75417; -119.28528. However, the Voice of America ceased broadcasts in October 2007, citing a changing political mission, reduced budgets, and changes in technology.

Is the fear of falling keeping you from progressing? Understand all of the basics of skateboarding fast in a one-week camp. We will show you the principles of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from customized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data uncovered that there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a board in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the following years the skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
