Colquitt is a city in Miller County, in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. The population was 1,939 at the 2000 census. Colquitt is the county seat of Miller County, a role it has held since just after Miller County was created by the Georgia Legislature in 1856. The city formally incorporated on December 19, 1860, and is Miller County’s only incorporated municipality. Colquitt is named for U.S. Congressman and Senator, Walter Terry Colquitt.
Colquitt is located at 31°10′23″N 84°43′43″W / 31.17306°N 84.72861°W / 31.17306; -84.72861 (31.173090, -84.728512).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.3 square miles (21 km), of which, 8.2 square miles (21 km) of it is land and 0.12% is water.
Colquitt is the home of Swamp Gravy, Georgia’s Official Folk-Life Play. The show is produced by the Colquitt-Miller Arts Council, using upwards of sixty volunteer actors and a professional production crew.

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a board in the previous year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the ensuing years the locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Colquitt skate park.
