Caribou is the 8th studio album by British singer/songwriter Elton John, released in 1974 (see 1974 in music). It was John’s 4th chart-topping album in the U.S. and his 3rd in the U.K. The album contains the singles, “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”, which reached # 16 in the UK Singles Chart and # 2 in the U.S., and “The Bitch Is Back”, which reached # 15 in the U.K. and # 4 in the U.S. Both these singles reached # 1 in Canada on the RPM 100 national Top Singles Chart (as did the album itself). The album was named for the Caribou Ranch recording studio, where the album was recorded. In the U.S. the album was certified Gold on 7/5/1974 and was certified Platinum and 2x Platinum on 3/23/1993 by the R.I.A.A.
In the liner notes to the 1995 CD re-release, Elton described the album as being quickly recorded in January 1974, with only about 9 days to get everything recorded, as he and the band “were under enormous pressure” to finish the album and then immediately embark on a Japanese tour…

Discover Skateboarding in a Two Week-Long Lesson

Skateboarding is a leisure activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered that there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the ensuing years the actual locations of skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
