Camilla is a city in Mitchell County, Georgia, United States, and is its county seat. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 5,360.
The city was incorporated in 1858. The name Camilla was chosen in honor of the granddaughter of Henry Mitchell, an American Revolutionary War general for whom Mitchell County was named.
On September 19, 1868, Republican Party marchers convening for a meeting during the Reconstruction era were fired upon by whites. As they returned to Albany, they were continually attacked. Harper’s Weekly estimated that between 50 and 75 African-Americans were killed and wounded, and the Republican candidate for Congress, Colonel Pierce, was seriously injured. This event is thought to have lowered black turnout during the following election, and was likely instrumental in the enactment of the 1870 ban on firearms and knives at public gatherings. Skateboarding is a pastime activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 report by American Sports Data uncovered there are 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the previous year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the coming years the skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The biggest change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

We will show you the principles of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from individualized instruction to meet your skill level.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Camilla skate park.
