Bone Gap is a village in Edwards County, Illinois, United States. The population was 272 at the 2000 census.
Bone Gap is located at 38°26′49″N 87°59′47″W / 38.44694°N 87.99639°W / 38.44694; -87.99639 (38.447053, -87.996288).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km), all of it land.
French trappers knew this area before it was permanently settled. The French referred to this place as “Bon Pas,” which translates literally to “good step,” Kentuckians modified the name to “Bone Pass,” as though it were a “pass” through a mountain range. This was then changed to “Bone Gap,” as in the Cumberland Gap.
An alternative story about the origin of Bone Gap’s name involves a small band of Piankashaw Indians who established a village in a gap in the trees a short distance east of present day Bone Gap. Do you want to learn skateboarding?

Is the fear of falling keeping you from progressing? Be taught all of the basics of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will show you the principles of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from customized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data discovered that there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the ensuing years the actual locations of skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The most significant change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Bone Gap skate park.
