Bart (バート, Bāto), stylized as BART, is a discontinued monthly Japanese visual perception magazine published by Shueisha from May 1991 to March 2000. Targeted to white-collar workers from 22 to 32 year of age, the magazine premiered in May 1991. The magazine initially had sluggish sales, and in 1997 Nobuhiko Horie, editor-in-chief of the Shueisha’s popular Weekly Shōnen Jump, took over as editor of Bart. To revive the publication, Horie overhauled the magazine’s layout and content, turning it into one of Japan’s top selling men’s magazines.
In August 1998, the magazine was renamed to Monthly Bart 3230, with an increased focus on digital media and the addition of serialized chapters from two seinen manga titles. The 3230 was taken from the base telephone number used in the Shueisha offices. In March 2000, the magazine was discontinued.

Discover Skateboarding in a Week-Long Lesson

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered that there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the previous year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the ensuing years the locations of skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
