“Atlantic City” is a song written and recorded by rock musician Bruce Springsteen, which first appeared on Springsteen’s 1982 solo album Nebraska, considered to be one of Springsteen’s most dour albums in tone. It has since often been heard in a full band arrangement in concert.
Springsteen writes in his Greatest Hits sleeve notes, he recorded the track in his bedroom, “…..for $1050 ( the cost of the 4 track Tascam recorder), mixed through an old Gibson guitar unit to a beat box….”
The song depicts a young couple’s romantic escape to the New Jersey city Atlantic City, but also wrestles with the inevitability of death as the man in the relationship intends to take a job in organized crime once arriving in the city. Skateboarding is a pastime activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data uncovered that there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a board in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the following years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The biggest change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation activity for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
