The City of Arvada ( /ɑrˈvædə/) is a Home Rule Municipality located in Jefferson and Adams counties in the Denver-Aurora-Broomfield, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area of the U.S. state of Colorado. Olde Town Arvada is located 7 miles (11 km) northwest of the Colorado State Capitol in Denver. The 2010 United States Census recorded 106,433 residents, making Arvada the eighth most populous city in the State of Colorado.
The first documented discovery of gold in the Rocky Mountain region occurred on June 22, 1850, when Lewis Ralston, a Georgia prospector headed for the California gold fields, dipped his sluice pan into a small stream near its mouth at Clear Creek. Ralston found about 1/4 ounce (6 g) of gold then worth about five dollars. Ralston’s companions named the stream Ralston’s Creek in his honor, but they all left the next morning, drawn by the lure of the California gold fields.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data found that there are 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the ensuing years the skate parks tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The most significant change has been the generation bubble that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation activity for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Arvada skate park.

    Eric has always loved helping children and taking them under his wing ever since he was a little kid. Even for all of the years, Eric has been skating you would always find him helping the kids and growing with the community. He is kind, compassionate, caring, attentive, and adaptable. When challenged with failure, he would never give up. He took his defeats and made them a success. No matter how big or small he would show the world that he is winning. He would show everyone that it is okay to fail, that getting back up again is the strongest thing you can do, and the reward of self-appreciation is something you do not do just for yourself, but for the impact, it has on others and watching them succeed with you. He would be a great teacher because his reward is succeeding with you, his community.

    Jake has been skateboarding for 12 years and has been riding aboard since he could walk. Jake has experience with kids as an office assistant in schools. He also has experience with skaters of all levels and has been teaching and giving tips to other skaters since he started. With Jake, students can expect a relaxed session where they will learn at least one new thing about skateboarding, guaranteed. Even if you haven’t skated before Jake can teach you. It is Jake’s policy that “practice makes make perfect” and students can expect to learn a basis of skills before applying them at the park. Safety is also a big concern for Jake and parents can expect their child to be safe during the lesson. Jake will conduct safety checks on the board, and make sure they have all the correct gear on before the lesson begins to ensure a safe environment.
