Alanson is a village in Emmet County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the village population was 785.
Alanson is in Littlefield Township on U.S. Highway 31 at the junction with M-68. Petoskey is about 12 miles (19 km) southwest on US 31 and Mackinaw City and the Mackinac Bridge are about 25 miles (40 km) north. Interstate 75 is about 11 miles (18 km) to the east on M-68 at Indian River.
Alanson was first settled in 1875. The Alanson post office opened with the name Hinman on January 17, 1877 and changed to Alanson on June 22, 1882.
Located on the Crooked River, Alanson is part of the Inland Water Route, which includes: Crooked, Burt, and Mullett Lakes, and the Crooked, Indian, and Cheboygan Rivers. The Inland Water Route Historical Society Museum is located in Alanson.
Alanson also has a hillside garden located adjacent to the former Grand Rapids and Indiana Railroad depot.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered there are 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the following years the physical locations of skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

Find out all of the basic principles of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will teach you the basics of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop.
