Waco (/ˈweɪkoʊ/) is a city in and the county seat of McLennan County, Texas. Situated along the Brazos River and on the I-35 corridor, halfway between Dallas and Austin, it is the economic, cultural, and academic center of the ‘Heart of Texas’ region.
The city has a 2010 population of 124,805 – an increase of almost 10 percent since the 2000 census. The Waco Metropolitan Statistical Area consists of just McLennan County, which has a 2010 population of 234,906.
Prior to the founding of Waco in 1849, a Wichita Native American group known as the “Waco” (Spanish: Hueco or Huaco) lived on the land of present-day downtown Waco. In 1824 Thomas M. Duke explored the area and reported to Stephen F. Austin describing the village: “This town is situated on the West Bank of the River. They have a spring almost as cold as ice itself. All we want is some Brandy and Sugar to have Ice Toddy. They have about 400 acres (1.6 km) planted in corn, beans, pumpkins, and melons and that tended in good order….

I’m 26 years old and I currently own and operate a successful small business. I have been skating, and surfing for more than 10 now. I have been instructing with GoSkate since I was 23. For me, it’s a mutually beneficial way to give back and invest my time in helping the sport grow in a positive way. I love being a part of teaching the next up-and-coming superstars how to build a foundation. I know that with my 7 years of entrepreneurship, I am very aware of what it’s like to be a student as well as a teacher. Growing up with a single mother and two sisters, I know firsthand the benefits of having a mentor/instructor to guide me through learning. That being said, let me be your guide to better tricks, more stamina, and most importantly improved fun!

Do you want to learn skateboarding?

Be taught all of the basic principles of skateboarding fast in a one-week camp. We will show you the principles of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. No matter, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data found that there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the coming years the locations of skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The most significant change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How you can start skateboard lessons?

Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.

Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Waco skate park.
