Rudyard is a lakeside village in the county of Staffordshire, England, west of Leek and on the shore of Rudyard Lake.
Rudyard was served by a railway station which was opened by the North Staffordshire Railway on 22 July 1850.
The Rudyard Lake was built in 1797 by the engineer John Rennie, for the Trent and Mersey Canal company, to provide water for the Caldon Canal. The Rudyard Lake Steam Railway operates steam trains along a one and a half mile track along the eastern side of the lake. The western shore is part of the Staffordshire Way, a long distance footpath.
The lakeside resort developed after the construction of the North Staffordshire Railway in 1845. On one particular day in 1877, more than 20,000 people came to watch Captain Webb – the first man to swim the English Channel – swim the reservoir. Learn all of the fundamentals of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will show you the principles of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. In spite, of where you are at.. you can benefit from customized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data found there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the coming years the locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The most significant change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Rudyard skate park.
