Skateboarding is a leisure activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered that there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a skateboard in the previous year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male.
