Frisco is an affluent city in Collin and Denton Counties in the U.S. state of Texas and a rapidly growing suburb of Dallas. As of the 2010 Census, 116,989 people were living in Frisco up from 33,714 in the previous census. Frisco was the fastest growing city in the United States in 2009, and also the fastest growing city in the nation from 2000-2009. In the late 1990s, the northern Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex suburban development tide hit the northern border of Plano and spilled into Frisco, sparking explosive growth into the 2000s. Like many of the cities located in the booming northern suburbs of Dallas, Frisco serves as a bedroom community for many professionals who work in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex.
Since 2003, Frisco has received the designation “Tree City USA” by the National Arbor Day Foundation. In 2007, Frisco received the National Arbor Day Foundation Growth Award for the third year in a row. This award recognizes environmental improvement and encourages a higher level…

OUR SKATE INSTRUCTORS

Logan W. from Little Elm, Texas!

I’ve been skateboarding since middle school, and with that comes a strong understanding of balance, basic tricks, all components of a skateboard, and the mindset needed to be able to push your abilities beyond what you think is possible.

Matthew N. from Prosper, Texas!

Matthew grew up in Midlothian Texas teaching new friends there how to skate. It was a great way to meet new friends, teach good habits, and meet people of many different backgrounds and experiences.  Patience is key, and having ADHD he is able to be understanding, slow things down, (or speed them up,) and be safe while doing so.  He has grown up on everything from longboards to skateparks, since he was 12 and is comfortable teaching even beyond his own skill set, due to being familiar with the fundamentals.  Having an associate’s in game design, skating is a good way to get outdoors while developing his portfolio.  Matthew is accepting of all backgrounds, religions, sexualities, and genders, having learned so much from all he’s met through his years, and being excited to share what he’s learned with others now.  He naturally finds himself helping kids at parks and telling them how to get the best yield out of their tricks, and looks forward to contributing to healthy outlets.

IMPROVE YOUR SKATEBOARDING IN A TWO WEEK-LONG SCHOOL

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the ensuing years the locations of skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
